About our candles

A long-lasting & clean burning candle

Made with soy wax, pure essential oils and a wooden wick to top it all off, here’s what you should know about our candles.

First, let’s talk about soy wax. Compared to paraffin wax, soy wax candles burn slower and emits less black soot - and that’s good news for you as a consumer! Not only would you be getting a candle that has more burn hours, but also a cleaner scent throw. One aesthetic issue that is common and natural in soy wax candles, especially with a clear glass, is the appearance of wet spots. Wet spots occur because of the change in temperature which can cause the soy wax to contract or expand, causing gaps between the wax and the jar. Not to worry! This does not affect the candle performance and only shows that the wax is pure without any additives.

Moving on to the use of pure essential oils, they are widely known for their therapeutic benefits, and we wanted to incorporate that into our candles to create that relaxing atmosphere. Although generally weaker than man-made fragrance oils, it can fill up the room without that overpowering scent throw that synthetic fragrances tend to give out.

Finally, our choice of wooden wicks. Besides their aesthetic look and feel, wooden wicks are sustainable and even gives off this soft crackling sound when you light them. It does take a little longer to light up compared to cotton wicks but they give off minimal soot, and an even, slow burn. Always remember to trim the blackened part of the wooden wick (you can use your fingers to break it off) before every burn to prevent that smoky smell.
